In this Privacy Policy, we refer to any information that can uniquely identify an individual as “Personal Information”.
This following policy explains how we, Halal Now, use your Personal Information which you provide to us when using our service, including but not limited to NOW By HMC iOS and Android mobile applications (“apps”) and orders.halalhmc.org and www.gethalalnow.com websites (together, the “Platform”).
The terms “we”, “us” and “Halal Now” all refer to our company Halal Now Ltd (www.gethalalnow.com). We will not share your personal information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
By using this Platform and our services, you consent to the Processing of your Personal Data as described in this Privacy Policy.
Collecting Personal Information
The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you when you register and order goods or services through our Platform. If you sign up for, or log onto, our Platform using a third-party service (for instance Facebook), we may receive information about you from such a third-party service. We also collect information when you complete any customer survey. Platform usage information may also be collected using cookies. The information we require from you will be retained by us and used as described in this Privacy Policy.

- Account information:
Information that we collect from you is used to process your order and to manage your account. We may also use your information to email you about other products or services that we think may be of interest to you. The information we require from you when you are signing up for our service may include your full name, address including postcode, email address, and phone number.

When you sign up for our services, you are opting to receive administrative, transactional, and legal messages from us. For example, if you place an order using our service, we may send you messages regarding your transaction using the contact information that you have provided to us. These messages may span over different mediums, including SMS text messages, emails and push notifications via the app on your mobile phone. We may track your actions and responses on the app/website and send you messages in accordance with your actions. We may store information that you provide to us through communication such as phone calls, emails or any other form of feedback that you give in relation to our service. Our calls may be monitored and recorded for quality assurance purposes.
- Transactions:
If you initiate a transaction through our Platform, we may collect and store information related to that transaction, such as your name, address, phone number and email (collectively, the “Personal Information”). This information may be shared with third parties, and third parties may share such information with us, for the same purpose. We may send marketing offers, deals, promotions and discounts that will be in accordance with the Halal Now Terms of Business and we hold the right to restrict, limit or discontinue any offer, deal, promotion or discount without providing any reason or prior notice. In order to submit orders through the Platform, you will be required to provide certain information in addition to the Personal Information noted above. Such information may include a debit card number, credit card number, billing address, and similar information (collectively, the “Billing Information”). We do not store any Billing Information on the Platform.
- Activity:
We may store information about your use of our service, such as the date and time of your visit, the vendors you access using our Platform, and the transactions that you make through our service. We may also receive and store your location information whenever our mobile applications are running, including when they are running in the background, if you enable our mobile app to access such information in the course of using our service. You may be able to limit or disallow our use of certain location data of yours by adjusting your “location settings” in your mobile app or browser.
- Different Devices:
You may be able to access our services through multiple devices, such as your computer and/ or mobile phone. The information we collect and the activity that we track is cross-referenced and combined across all platforms.
- Access to your information:
You have a right to request a copy of the information we hold on you at any time. Please email us if you would like to receive a copy of this information at the Contact given below. There will be a small charge for processing this request.
Sharing Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfil our contracts with you, as described above. For example:
- In processing your order:
- we may send your Personal Information to Payment Processors (such as Square, Clover or Stripe)
- we may send your Personal Information to restaurants that you have placed an Order with for processing and delivery
- Communication between users: To enable the users including the customer and the rider to interact and communicate with each other.
- Third parties who undertake various activities to promote, market or support our Services may receive your information as follows:
- social media platforms like Facebook
- offshore customer support agents
- website and application support and hosting providers
- We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, court order, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
- We may share information from or about you with our parent companies, subsidiaries, joint ventures or other companies under common control, in which case we will require them to honour this Privacy Policy.
Using Personal Information
We use your personal Information to provide our services to you, which includes: offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfilment of your order, and keeping you up to date on new products, services, and offers.
Lawful basis
Pursuant to the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), we process your personal information under the following lawful bases:

- The performance of the contract between you and Halal Now;
- Compliance with our legal obligations;

We may transfer your personal information to countries outside the one in which you are resident to other countries where our service providers have operations. The data protection laws of these countries may differ from the laws of United Kingdom but we take care to implement appropriate safeguards to protect your personal information in those countries in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Some of the safeguards we rely on include, where appropriate, using the European Commission’s approved standard contractual clauses with our service providers.

Your information is securely secured on cloud servers in the United Kingdom.
We place great importance on keeping your Personal Information safe and secure. As such, we have put in place technical and organisational measures to protect it from unauthorised access and unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage.
The security measures we use are designed to provide a level of protection security appropriate to the risk of processing your Personal Information. Where you have chosen a password which allows you to access certain parts of the Services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We advise you not to share your password with anyone and to use a unique password for our Services. We will not be liable for any unauthorised transactions entered into using your name and password.
Retention

Automatic decision-making
If you are a resident of the UK, you have the right to object to processing based solely on automated decision-making (which includes profiling), when that decision-making has a legal effect on you or otherwise significantly affects you.
We DO NOT engage in fully automated decision-making that has a legal or otherwise significant effect using customer data.
We use limited automated decision-making to prevent fraud that does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you.
Services that include elements of automated decision-making include:
- Temporary denylist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions. This denylist persists for a small number of hours.
- Temporary denylist of credit cards associated with denylisted IP addresses. This denylist persists for a small number of days.

- Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
